Meet the Founders
I love art! I love to make art, and I love to teach art! I have a passion for building creativity in children. I believe a passionate child is a happy child, and passionate children grow into young adults with confidence and purpose.
I am a licensed K-12 Art Educator with 25 years of experience teaching art to children. I graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in Graphic Design, and worked as a graphic designer for several years before taking some time off to start my family. When my children were young, I began teaching art at St. Francis Preschool where I discovered that my real pasion was not just in creating art, but giving the gift of creativity and curiosity to young artists. In 2008, I started teaching after school art classes for students at Magellan Charter School, and also worked for 5 years as an elementary art teacher for The Franciscan School.
Opening my very own children's art studio has been a dream of mine for so long, and I can’t wait to share this experience with you all!
I'm a licensed and National Board Certified science teacher with 5 years of teaching experience in Wake County Public Schools and almost 15 years of teaching experience as a dance teacher and summer camp instructor. I graduated from Elon University as a North Carolina Teaching Fellw with a degree in Middle Grades Eduation.
My goal and passion as an educator is to help students develop into independent, curious, and inquisitive learners. I believe in a whole-child approach to teaching and education, and that learning should be fun, authentic, and engaging! I can't wait to join forces with my mom to bring S.T.E.A.M. opportunities to the children and families at Paint Paper Paste!
